Summer enrollment up 14.5 percent from 2008

 Student enrollment for the 2009 summer sessions at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus increased by 14.5 percent compared to the same period last year, according to unofficial enrollment figures.

The number of students enrolled in summer classes increased from 812 in 2008 to 930 in 2009, a difference of 118. Credit hours taught also increased from 3,295 in 2008 to 3,688 in 2009, an 11.9 percent increase.

In the first summer session, credit hours taught increased 3.6 percent from 2008 to 2009. The number of students enrolled increased by 4.6 percent.

The number of students attending the second summer session classes grew 28.4 percent, with a 24.3 percent increase in credit hours taken.

Enrollment figures are unofficial until approved by Indiana University's president.

IUPUC has worked with the community to design academic programs and implement campus improvements that are attractive to students and responsive to south central Indiana’s educational and economic needs.
