IUPUC Credit Hours Up 6 Percent

Credit hours taught for the fall 2009 semester at IUPUC increased 6.1 percent compared to the same period last year, according to unofficial enrollment figures.

Credit hours rose from 16,339 in August 2008 to 17,328 this year, a 989 increase. Total student headcount also increased 6.5 percent, from 1,528 students in August 2008 to 1,628 students in August 2009.

The IU School of Nursing at IUPUC and the IU School of Education at IUPUC were each up nearly 25 percent in student headcount. The Division of Liberal arts experienced a 20 percent increase in headcount and the Division of Science saw a 15 percent increase in headcount.

Enrollment figures are unofficial until approved by Indiana University's president.
