IUPUC welcomes Director of Development and External Affairs

Stacy Zearing recently joined the staff of Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) as director of development and external affairs.

His responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive gift development plan aimed at securing private support for the campus, collaborating with members of various university boards and committees to fulfill the campus mission, and interacting with donors, alumni, community leaders, and other constituents to increase support for IUPUC's growing role in the economic and cultural success of the region.

Zearing earned his Bachelor of Science degree in public affairs management from Indiana University.

Before accepting his position at IUPUC, Zearing was executive director of development at North Carolina State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences. In that role, he led the strategic direction, management and coordination of a comprehensive major gift program for 11 academic departments and two research centers, leading a $12 million campaign.

Zearing has served on the board of  the Central Carolina Chapter of the IU Alumni  Association as Director of Student Recruitment & Scholarship and as a client mentor for the Healing Place of Wake County, North Carolina, a homeless shelter for men with substance abuse problems.
