IUPUC staff member earns security certification

IUPUC staff member Bill Fields recently earned certification as a systems security professional.

The Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification was the first credential in the field of information security, accredited by the American National Standards Institute.

The CISSP credential demonstrates competence in the following ten domains:
• Access Control
• Application Security
• Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
• Cryptography
• Information Security and Risk Management
• Legal, Regulations, Compliance and Investigations
• Operations Security
• Physical (Environmental) Security
• Security Architecture and Design
• Telecommunications and Network Security

Recertification is required every three years, with ongoing requirements to maintain the candidate’s credentials in good standing.
