CTL director presents at international summit

Director of the Columbus Center for Teaching and Learning Darrin Sorrells, Ph.D., recently facilitated a session at the 2009 Phi Delta Kappa International Summit on Quality Educator Recruitment and Retention held in Indianapolis. 

The session was focused on U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s major initiatives to transform education nationally, specifically strategies to enhance teacher effectiveness.  Sorrells facilitated the session along with Eric Hougan from Renton, Washington, and Meg Palisoc from Los Angeles, California. 

Sorrells, Hougan, and Palisoc, all have been formally recognized by Phi Delta Kappa International Professional Association for Educators as national Emerging Leaders in Education, a distinguished group of K-12 and higher education professionals totaling just 63 since 2006.
