FREE CONCERT

March 12, 2010

By Kylie Weichman

For the first time in IUPUC’s 40 years, a band from Los Angeles will perform on campus. The concert will be March 25 outside the Education area on the lawn of the CC building. Ziv will perform mid-morning, followed by the winners from the IUPUC Campus Idol competition. Ziv will close out the show with another performance later in the afternoon. The concert is free and open to anyone.

To date, the four-member group has recorded two albums and is currently working on a third. At the forefront of all of their work, is the idea to “make the most of things and to live everything with conviction,” says Ziv; “It’s about making the most of life and this chance that we’ve been given.”

Their first album, “Fearless,” sold more than 15,000 copies worldwide, winning the Independent Record of the Year award by Melodic.net. Their second album, “Paper and Sound,” helped the band land a management deal.

Ziv has only been together since 2007, yet already is working on their third album. The new album contains “a lot of energy, a lot more honesty,” says Ziv. “A lot of it is meant to be about ambition and confidence in the face of fear and insecurity.”

The band currently has several tour dates booked around the country. You can preview Ziv’s music at www.zivmusic.com.
