Science faculty judge fair

April 23, 2010

IUPUC faculty members Jack Young and James Clack, Ph.D., recently served as judges at the 22nd Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair.

Young was a grand awards judge in the Junior Division and Clack served as judging co-chair for the senior division.

Each year 100 middle and high school students chosen as winners at 12 regional science fairs held across Indiana, present the results of their scientific inquiry in one-on-one discussions with judges from the academic and business communities.

From this group 34 high school students and their teachers will advance to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, Calif. The ISEF brings together 1,600 students representing 57 countries.

Young is a lecturer of chemistry and Clack is an associate professor of biology and head of the Division of Science at IUPUC.
