Nursing instructor to help develop licensure exam

June 28, 2010

IUPUC faculty member Rebecca Bartlett, M.S.N., R.N., will serve as an Item Writer for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination July 13 through 16 at Pearson VUE, the NCLEX test service, in Chicago.

This is Bartlett’s second year to volunteer as an item writer.

All nurses in the United States must take the NCLEX. Passing the exam is one of the requirements necessary for attaining a nursing license.

Bartlett is one of only about a dozen nurses from across the nation selected to participate on the NCLEX item development panel of subject matter experts. She was selected on the basis of clinical specialty and nursing expertise. Bartlett’s clinical specialty is cardiac and critical care with expertise in enteral nutrition in the critically ill.

Bartlett is a clinical assistant professor of nursing for the IU School of Nursing at IUPUC.
