------------------------------------

The IUPUC Alumni Association will present a screening of the film All of Us on Monday, December 6, at 7 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of the Columbus Learning Center.

All of Us is about AIDS but it is not a tragedy. It is a story of resilience, sisterhood and courage. In the South Bronx, a young doctor embarks on a research project to find out why black women are being infected with the HIV virus at an alarming rate. Dr. Mehret Mandefro takes us into the lives and relationships of two of her female patients, Chevelle and Tara, as they identify and struggle with the social factors that put them at risk.

The film screening will be immediately followed by a brief discussion facilitated by Sociology Lecturer of the Division of Liberal Arts, Aimee Zoeller.

The purpose of the IUPUC Alumni Association Film Series is to raise awareness of and encourage discussion about a variety of social issues.  Other recent films presented in this series have included Fat Chance, Once Were Warriors, and After Silence. IUPUC, as a part of the system of higher education in the Columbus community, is pleased to offer this program through its growing Alumni Association.

This event is free and open to the public. Reservations are recommended by calling 812-314-8632 or by sending an e-mail to bjtaulbe@iupuc.edu.
