Students present at state conference

January 7, 2010

Two IUPUC students presented at the Indiana Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admissions Officers State Conference.

Makenzie Burbrink and Emma Robinson presented “How to Use Current Students for College Recruitment.” The presentation focused on the IUPUC Student Ambassador Program.

Student Ambassadors devote four hours a week to assist with on and off campus events and communicating with potential students.

“By being friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable the student ambassadors can present both a positive and accurate picture of campus life. They are vital to increasing awareness of IUPUC in south central Indiana,” said Susie Blizard, director of admissions and Student Ambassador advisor. “I am just so proud of Makenzie and Emma. It is very rare for students to present at the state conference.”

Burbrink, a Seymour High School graduate, is a senior majoring in psychology. Robinson, a graduate of Jennings County High School, is a junior majoring in sociology.
