Faculty member represents IUPUC at MLA convention and serves to the CCL

January 27, 2011

IUPUC faculty member Lisa Siefker Bailey, Ph.D., represented IUPUC for the second year as Treasurer at the annual meetings of the Conference on Christianity and Literature (CCL) at the Modern Language Association (MLA) convention in Los Angeles, California, during the first week of January 2011.

Dr. Siefker Bailey took over the office of Treasurer as an interim in 2009 and will fulfill her two-year elected term in 2012. CCL promotes high standards of Christian scholarship, supports Christian approaches to college teaching, and sponsors a publication that serves as a forum for scholarly discourse. Membership in CCL is open to all who are interested in its purposes and programs.

CCL has over 1,000 members, with many more individuals being served through the nearly 500 library subscriptions to the journal and through annual regional conferences in seven regions of North America.

As CCL Treasurer, Dr. Siefker Bailey keeps CCL’s books, disperses grant and award monies, manages the society’s budget, and files CCL’s taxes. Her national service to this prestigious organization contributes to IUPUC’s growing reputation.

Dr. Siefker Bailey is a Lecturer of English in the IUPUC Division of Liberal Arts.
