Columbus, IN -- IUPUC Division of Business faculty member Kevin Jones, Ph.D., recently participated as a panel member in the series “To be a Black Professional in Today’s Society” which took place at IUPUI’s Multicultural Success Center and was part of the programs offered to celebrate Black History month.

Stories and experiences in the work field from Black professionals of different backgrounds were shared at the event.

“The importance of the event is that it gave African-American students and others an inside look at the challenges and opportunities that exist for African-Americans in the workplace. The program gave information on the strategies that are essential for realizing professional success,” said Dr. Kevin Jones.   

The series gave students direct access to a strong panel of professional African-American men and women. The program featured questions that ranged from professional dress to the challenges faced in the workplace by African-Americans.

Jones is an assistant professor of Management in the IUPUC Division of Business.
