Register now for hybrid, online, and off-campus business courses at IUPUC
Interested in taking a business course to sharpen your accounting, finance, human resource, computer information systems, management, or marketing skills?
Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) offers an array of affordable, accessible summer and fall courses designed for busy working adults and traditional students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
Hybrid courses, online courses, and courses taught at off-campus locations in Greensburg and Seymour make IUPUC programs more convenient for students with work, family, and other responsibilities that make it challenging to travel to the IUPUC campus, according to Dr. Michael J. Oakes, interim head of the Division of Business.
Using technology for teaching and learning is an important tool that enables IUPUC to reach more students. Hybrid courses blend traditional classroom instruction with Web-based learning components. They reduce the amount of time required in the classroom, utilizing the Web for instruction, dialog and interaction between faculty and students, disseminating course material, and completing assignments.
“IUPUC’s hybrid courses provide students with the scheduling flexibility they have come to expect from an ever-growing number of public and private universities,” explained Oakes. “They facilitate personal interaction between faculty and students, providing a valuable face-to-face classroom experience that we want to remain a core component of our business program. They also enable us to better compete with other academic institutions, like the University of Phoenix, without moving to an entirely online format for course delivery.”
