The Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) Student Council has elected new members for the 2011–12 academic year.

The IUPUC Student Council collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to ensure student interests are known and their voices are heard. Each year, members plan, manage, and promote a variety of campus events and engage in leadership development activities.

IUPUC’s Student Council hosts events designed to enhance the student experience, including concerts, movie nights, including the annual Big Red Blowout and Campus Idol, IUPUC’s spin on the popular American Idol television series.

Next year, it will host the first annual IUPUC Dance Marathon to benefit Riley Hospital for Children. Several small events will be held throughout the year to raise donations for the cause, culminating with a 12-hour dance marathon that will be held on campus October 14-15.
