Business executives, government officials, university and college students, and citizens throughout south central Indiana are invited to a half-day workshop on cross-cultural communications with China on Wednesday, May 2, 2012.

The workshop, co-sponsored by the International Center and the Center for Business & Economic Development at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC), will include:

  • An overview of Chinese culture
  • Instructions on business etiquette and protocol in China
  • Understanding and appreciation of intercultural differences
  • Intercultural communication tools
  • Information about the influence of culture on individual perceptions, values, and beliefs
“In a global economy, it is vital to understand how to do business in other cultures. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and networking, and the workshop is from 9 a.m. to 11:30.

Sessions will be held in CC Room 176 on the IUPUC campus, located at 4601 Central Avenue. The cost is $95, which includes a continental breakfast and materials. Parking is free.
