Nominations for 2014 Excellence in Diversity Award Are Due November 8

Nominations for those who have demonstrated commitment and outstanding efforts toward creating a diverse, inclusive community are sought for the 2014 Excellence in Diversity Award from Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC).

The IUPUC award recognizes individuals, organizations, groups, units, projects, and institutions whose work supported and facilitated inclusiveness in the community over the past year. It is intended to honor those who champion open, honest discussion of any and all issues related to diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion.

Nominees must meet at least one of these criteria:

  • Engage in meaningful diversity activities beyond one’s professional responsibilities in order to encourage excellence through inclusion in the IUPUC community.
  • Display leadership in advancing diversity on campus and/or in the community.
  • Demonstrate efforts that foster a more inclusive and equitable learning and work environment.
  • Show evidence of inclusive teaching and/or program development beyond one’s responsibilities.
  • Conduct research and/or creative activity related to the experiences, realities, and/or contributions of persons from less-represented populations.
  • Provide leadership in programming, training, or other experiences which serve to advance diversity and inclusion at IUPUC.

Candidates can self-nominate or be nominated using the nomination form posted online at www.iupuc.edu/diversity-award.

Completed nominations should be e-mailed to the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Dean at vicechancellor@iupuc.edu on or before November 8, 2013.
