22 students receive donor-funded scholarships for 2014-15

Like most higher education institutions across the state and around the nation, Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) depends on support from local and regional business enterprises, civic groups, alumni, private citizens, and others who believe in the importance of higher education.

Thanks to generous IUPUC supporters, 22 students will receive scholarships for the 2014-15 academic year, up from 18 in 2013-14.  

Collectively, these donors provided $23,500 for the scholarships. The student recipients are listed below along with their hometowns and areas of study:

IUPUC donor-funded scholarships to deserving students each year. The students meet specific eligibility criteria related to academic performance, major area of study, and grade point average.

According to Dr. Marwan Wafa, vice chancellor and dean, donors help IUPUC keep tuition affordable. “Gifts from the private sector are vital for student scholarships and for the continued growth and development of the university,” he said. “We are grateful to those who have invested in us and our students."
