IUPUC Homecoming Week

February 11, 2016

In 2014, Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) established a new campus tradition by holding its first Homecoming Week with an array of activities, several of which are open to the public. Alumni and former IUPUC students, as well as high school students, parents and residents, are invited to attend.

IUPUC’s Homecoming 2016 will be held February 15-19. Public activities include the IUPUC Service Day and Friday evening basketball game.

Homecoming is an annual tradition at many universities, colleges, and high schools across the U.S. This will be the third year that IUPUC has hosted Homecoming festivities, but the first year that all activities will be entirely student-led. The students have selected a “Star Wars” theme for the week entitled “Homecoming Episode III – The Pride Awakens”. Dr. Sandra Miles, director of student affairs, is very excited about the week that the students have planned. “We want students to have ownership in their campus traditions,” Miles explained. “With students in charge, we have already noticed a lot more enthusiasm leading up to this event and are confident that students will turn out in record numbers.”
