IUPUC 2016 Excellence in Leadership Initiative speaker series welcomes Tuyet Le

The Excellence in Leadership Initiative (ELI) at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus welcomes Tuyet Le, Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice for the Midwestern region premier pan-Asian organization, located in Chicago, Illinois. The group’s core objective is committed to empowering Asian Americans through advocacy by utilizing research, education and coalition-building. 

Monday, Mar. 7 | 4 p.m., LC Room 1000

As Executive Director, Le has focused on improving cooperation among diverse Asian American communities, raising their visibility, and highlighting their concerns to policy makers and the public at large. According to the organization's Web site, “Under Le’s leadership, Advancing Justice-Chicago programs have included advocating for affirmative action, voting rights, redistricting, Asian American political empowerment, and advocacy against hate crimes.” (www.advancingjustice-chicago.org/staff-member/tuyet-le/). Le’s topic of discussion will focus on the Intersection of Gender and (Dis)ability.

The Excellence in Leadership Series events are held in the Columbus Learning Center (LC) Building, is free and open to the public.
