2016 IUPUC Commencement Celebration

May 3, 2016

Two hundred and ninety-five students are celebrating their 2016 graduation from Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC). The number includes 77 students that completed the required curriculum in December and the 218 graduates scheduled for completion in May and August.

A celebratory ceremony is planned for Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Columbus East Auditorium with 174 IUPUC graduate and undergraduate students participating. The annual event is a public ceremony conducted in recognition of their achievement of this significant milestone.

The type and number of degrees the university expects to award are:

  • Division of Business                                 88
  • Division of Education                               14
  • General Studies                                         16
  • Division of Liberal Arts                           23
  • Division of Mechanical Engineering     7
  • Division of Nursing                                  99
  • Division of Science                                   48

Dr. Larry Richards, Interim Vice Chancellor and Dean, notes that “IUPUC has been graduating more students every year for a few years now. That means that more students are persisting to graduation and completing their requirements in a shorter period of time. This is wonderful news, and we congratulate and thank the students for their accomplishment and hard work and the faculty and staff for guiding them on their path to success.”

IUPUC graduating students, faculty, and staff will enjoy the 2016 IUPUC GRAD BASH held on Friday, May 7. The event is free to graduates, but with a guest a $5 cover charge is requested.
