IU School of Nursing at IUPUC credited for accomplishments & successes

June 1, 2016

The IU School of Nursing (IUSON) team at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) is receiving recognition for their demonstrated compliance to the structure and processes as outlined by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and the Indiana State Board of Nursing.

In August 2015, IUSON received Site Accreditation approval for the first academic sim center certified in Indiana by the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Later, in November 2015, IUSON received site approval by the SSH Provisional Accreditation. Provisional accreditation was granted for two (2) years and allows simulation centers to seek accreditation earlier by focusing on the structure and processes to accredit those aspects of the applying program.

Acceptance is based upon a demonstrated compliance to the SSH Provisional Accreditation of Core Standards and Teaching/Education Standards. Additionally, in November 2015, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education Site Accreditation granted its approval to IUSON and became official in May 2016, but was retroactive to November 2015.

Conference Attendance Awards:
