2016 Student Professional Development Day at IUPUC

October 18, 2016

The 2016 Student Professional Development Day (SPDD) was held at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC). SPDD occurs annually at various IU locations and is intended to provide a professional educational experience for nursing students and allows groups to participate in a professional interdisciplinary education.

Dr. Beth Sharer, Division Head at the IUSON says that historically, as a part of the core (IUPUI, IUPUC, and IUB) we all did an every other year SPDD together at IUPUI. Since we are now separately accredited, we held our first SPDD here at IUPUC in conjunction with ITTC School of Nursing (SON).

“I am very proud of the faculty and staff from both the IU School of Nursing at IUPUC and the Ivy Tech Columbus School of Nursing for pulling together this wonderful professional experience for our students. It is amazing how the healthcare community came together to support this magnitude of a learning opportunity,” says Beth.
