Just for Juniors is a free IUPUC event for high school students and their parents

January 25, 2017

Each year Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPUC) hosts “Just for Juniors,” which is a campus event designed to not only inform but inspire high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors towards a degree in higher education.

Just for Juniors is a free event scheduled for Friday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will be held at the Columbus Learning Center, Lecture Hall.

The IUPUC Student Ambassadors will be available to discuss the many attributes of campus life. In addition, all degree programs at IUPUC will be introduced.

Sessions are scheduled that will cover college scholarships and the correct process when successfully transitioning from high school into college. Examples of the information sessions include:

  • Early College
  • Financial aid and scholarships
  • Degree programs
  • Student Life

Jennifer Chandler, the director of scholarships at IUPUC, says, “High school students have many choices when considering where to go to college. For students exploring their options, IUPUC would like students to tour our campus and discover why our degree programs are a great educational opportunity.”

Chandler shares, “The IUPUC Early College Program is popular with many academically motivated high school students because it enables them to take dual-credit university courses. Earned credits may be applied towards an early college graduation, a minor, or a second college major. Furthermore, students in the early college program often have more time for IUPUC internships or study abroad opportunities.”

An IU education provides students the tools to succeed no matter which direction life takes them, whether their next step is graduate school, their doctorate, or employment.

Attendees must register online at iupuc.edu/just-juniors. Lunch will be served at this free “Just for Juniors” event.
