IUPUC to host two career events in the Columbus Learning Center

March 23, 2017

Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) will host and co-host with Ivy Tech career oriented events in the Columbus Learning Center.

Career Prep Day
The office of career services, business connections at IUPUC, and the IUPUC alumni association are hosting a Career Prep Day. These campus groups volunteer their time and expertise to ensure IUPUC students are ready for life after graduation.

Students will learn:

  • The elevator pitch
  • How to prepare for an interview
  • What employers are looking for
  • Questions employers may ask and the student's response
  • Social media: What sites employers may review
  • LinkedIn photo and what students should include in their profile?
  • Managing multiple job offers
  • Salary negotiations

The event is Tuesday, Mar. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Columbus Learning Center, Summerville Room (LC 1400). Come by and get the support you need to any or all of the provided services. All participants qualify to win door prizes!

Career Fair
Career Fairs are an effective resource for connecting employers with students who are seeking opportunities while in taking classes and after graduation. Employers are seeking job candidates for full-time, part-time, and internship positions. Bring your resume; It’s recommended that attendees dress in business attire and bring copies of their resumes to the event at the 2017 IUPUC and Ivy Tech career and internship fair. The event is Wednesday, April 5 on Main Street in the Columbus Learning Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
