A new admission process for the IU MBA Program at IUPUC that is designed to evaluate applicants holistically was recently approved by the IUPUC Division of Business and is in effect. As a result, the IU MBA Program at IUPUC no longer requires either the GRE or GMAT as part of the application.

“As a small, but rigorous, graduate program we have the ability to evaluate every element of every application. We concluded that the testing requirement was often a barrier for applicants and was not a reliable predictor of graduate success,” says Dr. Lauren Burch, MBA program director.

Instead, the application process will include a comprehensive interview with each applicant. This will provide an opportunity for the program and the applicant to meet face-to-face, yielding a multi-faceted assessment. In addition to the interview, the application process will evaluate years of work experience and level of community involvement.

“One of the strengths of a small program like ours is the ability to provide individualized attention to every student. We decided to apply that strength to the application and admission process for our candidates with the incorporation of an individualized interview,” said Burch.

The IU MBA Program at IUPUC was established in 2001. It is a 45-credit-hour evening program designed for working professionals. Classes meet two evenings a week for 24 months, and students earn an Indiana University degree.
