If your crystal ball is a little cloudy about projected business and economic conditions for 2018, you will not want to miss the Indiana Business Outlook Panel, 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Columbus Learning Center Lecture Hall. The event is sponsored by the Centra Credit Union and co-hosted by the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and the Division of Business at IUPUC.

Since 1972, experts from the Indiana Business Research Center (IBRC), a part of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, compile, analyze, and interpret international, U.S., Indiana, and local economic data and prepare predictions for the coming year. IBRC representatives traverse the state during November to present their forecasts in communities across Indiana.

At each tour stop, IBRC panelists are joined by a local expert who provides projections for the community. Dr. Ryan Brewer, associate professor of finance at IUPUC has provided the south-central Indiana forecast since 2012. Dr. Brewer is nationally recognized for his research on valuations of collegiate football and basketball programs, which has been published in the Wall Street Journal among other media outlets.

Dr. Frank Wadsworth, head of the division of business at IUPUC, states, “If you own, operate, or manage any size business, government or non-government agency or department; if you provide financial or business advice or your personal situation is impacted by global, national, state, or local business and economic conditions; you should attend this event.” Wadsworth goes onto say, “Many Hoosiers are interested in the international, U.S., Indiana, and local market forecasts which makes the Business Outlook Panel series one of Indiana University’s most widely anticipated and attended events.”

The knowledge gained from this entertaining and educational experience can improve the effectiveness and growth of your business.
