The IUPUC Staff Council Outreach Committee (SCOC) held its annual fundraiser “Soup-tacular Soup Luncheon” in the Columbus Learning Centers Summerville Rm., on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m.

Faculty, staff, and members of the student body interested in participating through donations cooked-up homemade soups and desserts. For a $5 donation, patrons received two small bowls of soup or one large bowl of soup; bread and butter; dessert and a drink.

The event raised $460 that will be added to an annual year-long fundraiser used to purchase hams for the local Love Chapel.

Beginning in 2003, the SCOC requested monetary donations from IUPUC faculty and staff to purchase hams for food baskets distributed during the holidays by Love Chapel. Since 2003, through various fund-raising campus events, and campus-wide generosity, the purchase, and donation of approximately 2000 hams have been made possible.
