Sixth Annual IUPUC/Ivy Tech Invitational Speech Tournament

In collaboration, the campuses of IUPUC (Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus) and Ivy Tech Community College of Columbus, with the Columbus East High School Speech Team, will hold the sixth annual IUPUC/Ivy Tech Invitational Speech Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Columbus Learning Center.

There are four straight rounds of competition with events that include:
broadcasting, congress, discussion, dramatic interpretation, duo interpretation, humorous interpretation, impromptu, informative speaking, international extemporaneous speaking (IX), original oratory, original performance, prose, poetry, programmed oral interpretation (POI), and United States extemporaneous speaking (USX).


It is anticipated, that between 150-200 students and 40-50 volunteers from 10-15 Indiana high schools will participate. Trophies will be awarded to the top ten teams, and ribbons to the top ten contestants in each event in both novice and varsity divisions. The public is invited to the awards ceremony that is scheduled at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the Columbus Learning Center, Lecture Hall.
