Columbus, Indiana — The IUPUC Division of Liberal Arts is sponsoring a free Tennessee Williams film series at Yes Cinema this fall.

The four films include
  • August 27 at 3 p.m.| A Streetcar Named Desire, starring Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh
  • September 17 at 3 p.m. | Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, starring Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor
  • October 29 at 3 p.m. | Summer and Smoke, starring Laurence Harvey and Geraldine Page
  • November 19 at 3 p.m. | Baby Doll, starring Eli Wallach and Carrol Baker

Dr. Lisa Siefker Bailey is teaching a class on Tennessee Williams and film, and IUPUC is pleased to offer these film screenings to the community free of charge.

Dr. Siefker Bailey earned her Ph.D. in English from Vanderbilt University with a specialty in the work of Tennessee Williams.  She said, “It’s thrilling that IUPUC is paying for the venue and rights so we can show these classic films in the way they were meant to be seen on the silver screen.”
