If your crystal ball is a little cloudy about whether the ten-year runup in the U.S. Stock market will continue, what the impact of tariffs on your business and the U.S. economy will be, or about projected business and economic conditions for 2019, you will not want to miss the Indiana Business Outlook Panel on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Columbus Learning Center Lecture Hall. The event, sponsored by Centra Credit Union, is co-hosted by the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and the Division of Business at IUPUC and begins at 7:30 a.m. with a light breakfast, followed by the speakers at 8:00 a.m. The cost to attend is $15.

Since 1972, experts from the Indiana Business Research Center (IBRC), a part of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, compile, analyze, and interpret international, U.S., Indiana, and local economic data and prepare predictions for the coming year. IBRC representatives traverse the state during November to present their forecasts in communities across Indiana.

At each tour stop, IBRC panelists are joined by a local expert who provides projections for the community.  Steve Mohler, visiting assistant professor of management at IUPUC, will provide the south central Indiana forecast this year. Mohler holds MBAs in Finance, Marketing, and Accounting. Mohler’s research is focused on small to medium enterprises and the correlation of social media marketing with sales growth. Mohler teaches micro and macro economics, introduction to business and management, marketing, and strategy courses for IUPUC.

Dr. Frank Wadsworth, Head of the Division of Business at IUPUC states, “If the world, U.S., or Indiana economy impacts your personal financial or retirement situation, business, department, government or non-government agency, you should attend this event.”  Wadsworth goes on to say, “Most Columbus area residents and Indiana Hoosiers want to know what to expect in 2019 regarding the world, U.S., Indiana, and Columbus area economies which makes the Business Outlook Panel series one of Indiana University’s most widely anticipated and attended events.”
