IUPUC recognized Chris Reading with its 2018 Distinguished Alumnus Award at its annual Circle of Leadership Celebration held at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Columbus on November 1, 2018.  The award recognizes a deserving alumnus who has demonstrated outstanding professional contributions and accomplishments, service to the community, and service to the university.

Chris Reading received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from IUPUC in 2005. Chris received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (commonly known as Virginia Tech) in 2000.

In that same year, Chris joined Cummins and has served in various roles at multiple facilities including the Fuel Systems Plant in Columbus, Cummins Industrial Center in Seymour, and currently as an Engineering Functional Excellence Manager in Indianapolis. Throughout his time with Cummins, Chris has helped save millions of dollars through global resourcing projects, and has continually supported staff and other employees to do their best work across all geographic regions and markets.

As an active member of the IUPUC Alumni Association, Chris served as president from 2009-2011, was instrumental in increasing the visibility and reputation of the organization, and has helped increase the scholarship fund through fundraising events. In addition, Chris was active in larger, university-wide Indiana University Alumni Association (IUAA) events, and has encouraged IUAA magazine and other publications to more prominently feature IUPUC.
