Cindy Pittman started her journey as a custodian at IUPUC nearly twelve years ago. According to her nominator, “Cindy has gone above and beyond her nightly duties in the absence of one of her coworkers. She is now responsible for ordering cleaning supplies, coordinating IUPUI site visits, and maintaining our building to the level we have come to expect.”

Not only does Cindy maintain the IUPUC spaces to the highest of standards, but she also works diligently to maintain the IU Republic building in downtown Columbus. In fact, she was one of the handful of individuals responsible for the impressive conditions on the Republic building during the IU Trustees meeting last month.

“I feel honored to have been selected for this award. There are many wonderful people who deserve it and I am beyond grateful that I am the recipient for this quarter,” says Cindy. Her nominator also says, “Without her experience and guidance, facility services could not succeed as well as it does. She is hardworking and focused. Cindy brings much pride and recognition not only to herself, but to the IUPUC campus as a whole.”

Cindy was born and raised in Nashville, Indiana and currently resides there with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her two granddaughters and travelling. Her husband is a pilot and has recently purchased a small plane. She is excited to start travelling more frequently with her husband in their new plan and is looking forward to spending more quality time with her granddaughters.
