IUPUC has fully redesigned the IU MBA Columbus program, including curriculum changes, a reduction in the number of credit hours, and new course delivery formats. These program enhancements are set for implementation beginning with the fall 2020 semester.
“Our curriculum enhancement at IU MBA Columbus is the result of nearly two years of planning and effort on the part of many faculty and staff members at IUPUC – both in the Division of Business and across our campus,” said Ryan Brewer, Associate Professor of Finance, and Director of the MBA program. “We believe it not only results in a much-improved MBA program, but also reflects significant compatibility with recommended approaches to delivering high-quality graduate education in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
One of the most significant changes in the program is the reduction in credit hours from 45 to 36, not only reducing the overall cost, but also enabling completion in 21 months. In addition, a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction through a hybrid format provides students with flexibility to better manage school, work, and family commitments.
From a curriculum standpoint, the program is increasing its focus on data analytics, marketing, and supply chain management to meet the rising need for those proficiencies in today’s competitive business landscape, as well as introducing a new “Student Choice Pathway” that provides the opportunity for in-depth study in a specific area of interest.
The program is also expanding its current professional development thread with added emphasis on emotional intelligence, personal branding, and undergrad student mentoring.
“We began the MBA program here at IUPUC 20 years ago to meet the needs of the region’s business community,” said Brewer. “With this next evolution of the program we hope to continue our strong tradition of providing business leaders to South Central Indiana.”
There are still spots available for the fall semester. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2020. Interested students can contact the Program Assistant, Amy Kleinert via email at email@example.com
