IUPUC will be hosting a series of online discussion forums titled “Timely Topics” beginning with two events in August sponsored by the Division of Business and the Center for Business and Economic Development at IUPUC.

“One important aspect of a university is to act as a place to share ideas,” said Kate Notich, Admissions and Advising Coordinator for the Division of Business at IUPUC. “Right now, we can’t bring the community to campus for those important discussions, so we decided to bring the discussions to the community through Zoom.”

The first Timely Topic, Mid-year Economic Outlook, will take place on August 5 at 12 p.m. IUPUC faculty members Dr. Ryan Brewer and Dr. Steven Mohler will provide updated information from the Business Outlook Panel discussion held in November, 2019, and explore economic factors impacting our state and local communities as well as national and international markets.

The second program in the series will be held on August 12 at 12 p.m. The discussion topic is Privacy in the Digital Age, and will feature presentations by IUPUC professors Dr. Kevin Jones and Dr. Jon Padfield. The forum will address challenges, issues, and concerns regarding data privacy, including the implications of sacrificing data privacy, and discuss actions people can take toward regaining personal data privacy.

The online sessions are open to the public, however registration is required to attend. For more information and to register, go to iupuc.edu/events/timely-topics.
