IUPUC was one of 10 statewide hosts for the 2022 Indiana State Math Contest held on April 23, 2022, sponsored by the Indiana Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM). Seventy-eight students participated in the competition, with 15 placing first, second, or third in their respective categories.
The annual competition is open to elementary school, middle school, and high school students across the state who compete in one of five exam categories including Pre-Algebra, Algebra First Course/Integrated Math I, Geometry/Integrated Math II, Algebra Second Course/Integrated Math III, and Comprehensive, with awards given at both the site and state level.
Zoey Pan (Southside Elementary School) earned a Top 5% Scholar award at the State Level in Pre-Algebra in addition to First Place at the IUPUC site; and Matthew Liu (Columbus North High School) earned 3rd place and Top 5% at the State Level in Comprehensive in addition to a First Place at the IUPUC site.

Students who advanced to the state level will be invited to the State Awards Ceremony to be held in the Atrium at the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1 p.m.
