IUPUC and Mill Race Center will present “Great Decisions: Climate Migration” on March 30, 2023, 6:30-8 p.m., at Mill Race Center.

George Towers, Ph.D., IUPUC professor of geography, will discuss climate-change related events that cause millions of people to uproot and seek safety elsewhere. He will consider the question, “Who are these affected individuals, and how might the United States aid them, and be affected by the migration?”

Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. Every year, communities around the country convene to discuss eight international topics chosen by a panel of experts. Locally, IUPUC and Mill Race Center will present a forum every Thursday, 6:30 to 8 p.m., through May 11.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning about world affairs, as well as to interact with people in the community who are also interested in international affairs,” said Towers.

This program is sponsored nationally by the Foreign Policy Association and presented locally by IUPUC’s Division of Liberal Arts and Mill Race Center. Great Decisions is supported with a grant from Indiana University’s Innovate Indiana initiative.

To register, contact Mill Race Center at (812) 376-9241. Registration is $35 for Mill Race members and $45 for non-members, and includes a briefing book with articles related to each topic.
