Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus honored this year’s graduates at its 2023 commencement celebration ceremony on May 11, 2023, at the Airpark Columbus campus.

IUPUC’s 2023 commencement speakers included:

• Andy Klein, IUPUI Interim Chancellor

• Audra McNear, IUPUC Student Government Activities Board President

• Sarah Achenbach, IUPUC Chancellor’s Scholar Award recipient

“For this graduating cohort, the Covid-19 pandemic tested us to the maximum extent,” McNear said. “We adapted to new ways of learning and living. We persevered. We have shown resilience, strength, and courage. And we have come together as a community to support each other through these difficult times. Now we’re here, today, and we are victorious.”

IUPUI Interim Chancellor Andy Klein also applauded members of the graduating class for their perseverance. “Each one of you has faced challenges, including a global pandemic. But you persisted and—I would add—you triumphed.”

This year’s graduates represent IUPUC’s 12 undergraduate and three graduate programs. Students honored on May 11 completed their coursework in December 2022 or are expected to complete their programs in May or August 2023.
